On an otherwise uneventful mid-afternoon in May, after the Salesforce acquisition talk has quieted down, a press conference was called to announce a new product direction.  This time, unlike February’s partnership announcement by Sage and Salesforce, there was an explanation of how these companies would join forces. Before jumping into the details, let me say that as a Sage partner and a Salesforce Cloud Alliance Partner, any of this analysis is pure conjecture on my part from over 15 years in the channel, with nothing specifically stated or inferred by either Salesforce or Sage.  It’s my 20 years of experience reading the tea leaves and making an educated guess on what all of this means.
